Alleged “Robin Hood Bandit” Indicted
Charged with Seven Robberies, Gun Crimes

COLUMBUS—A federal grand jury here returned a 15-count indictment charging Myron Jerome Green, 49, of Columbus, in connection with seven armed robberies that occurred between June 2009 and May 2010.
Carter M. Stewart, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio; Keith L. Bennett, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Cincinnati (FBI); and Columbus Police Chief Walter Distelzweig announced the indictment returned late yesterday.
The indictment charges Green with four counts of bank robbery. Green allegedly robbed the Cooper State Bank at 5090 N. High Street on June 9, 2009, a Huntington National Bank at 662 N. High Street on May 3, 2010, a Huntington National Bank at 4466 N. High Street on May 7, 2010, and a U.S. Bank on E. Dublin-Granville Road on May 10, 2010. Each count of bank robbery is punishable by up to 25 years’ imprisonment.
The grand jury also charged Green with three counts of interfering with interstate commerce by robbery for hold-ups of a restaurant, drug store, and department store between April 25 and May 6, 2010. Each of those counts is punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment. The indictment also charges Green with seven counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted of all gun crimes, Green faces 157 years' imprisonment consecutive to any time served for conviction on any of the other crimes charged in the indictment.
The FBI dubbed the robber of the Huntington Bank on May 3, 2010 the “Robin Hood Bandit” after the robber gave a mother and her daughter each a $100 bill outside the bank.
Columbus Police officers arrested Green following the robbery on May 10, 2010. He has been in custody since his arrest.
Stewart commended the cooperative investigation by Columbus Police detectives and FBI agents, as well as Assistant U.S. Attorney Salvador A. Dominguez, who is prosecuting the case.
An indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant should be presumed innocent unless convicted in court.
