CHICAGO—Robert J. Holley, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the FBI, announced today a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the identification and arrest of a bank robbery suspect dubbed the “Bandage Bandit.”

The robber earned his moniker by wearing a large gauze bandage on his face during two of the robberies. Overall, the Bandage Bandit is suspected of carrying out a total of four recent heists on Chicago’s north and west sides in the last four weeks. They are as follows:

1. PNC Bank, 2154 West Madison St., 9:45 a.m. on 3/31/ 2015.
2. Chase Bank, 3101 West Cermak Rd, 9:13 a. m on 4/6/2015.
3. PNC Bank, 3337 West North Ave, 10:46 a.m. on 4/22/2015.
4. PNC Bank, 2300 North Western Ave, 9:12 a.m. on 4/28/2015.

On each occasion, a robber entered the bank, approached a bank employee and made a demand while threatening harm to bank employees and customers. To date, there have been no physical injuries reported in connection with the robberies.

The Bandage Bandit is described by witnesses as a male, black, six feet tall, 45-49 years old with a medium build and dark complexion. He has been seen wearing a red or black jacket or a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white shoes, a black knit cap or black baseball cap, sunglasses and a gauze bandage on the left side of his face. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone recognizing the Bandage Bandit or having information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at (312) 421-6700 or local police. This case is being investigated by the FBI in coordination with local authorities.
