FBI Executes Search Warrant at Northern Illinois University Campus in Connection with Ongoing Criminal Investigation

Special agents and other personnel from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, along with agents and officers from federal and state law enforcement partners, are at the Northern Illinois University (NIU) campus today to execute a search warrant. The search warrant is associated with an ongoing criminal investigation being conducted by the FBI, Illinois State Police, U.S. Department of Education Office of Inspector General, and Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General. Today’s activity is not in response to any public safety concerns, and during the execution of the warrant, the public safety functions of the NIU police department will continue uninterrupted.

No arrests have been made nor charges filed with respect to the investigation. Due to the ongoing nature of the matter, no additional information is available at this time.
