Robbery of First American Bank Branch in Chicago

An armed robbery took place this morning at a First American Bank branch located at 11821 South Western Avenue in Chicago. A lone male, armed with a handgun, entered the bank shortly after 9:30 a.m. and announced a robbery. Witnesses reported he was approximately 5’10”-5’11” tall and was wearing dark clothing, a dark cap, and sunglasses. The handgun used in the robbery was described as a silver revolver. After demanding and receiving cash from bank employees, the robber left the bank on foot. There were no reports of injuries associated with the robbery.
