Robbery of First American Bank Branch in Chicago

The First American Bank branch, located at 11821 S. Western Avenue, Chicago, was robbed at approximately 9:50 a.m today.

Two black males, armed with guns, walked into the bank, approached the teller counter, and verbally announced a robbery. One of the robbers jumped the counter and got an undisclosed amount of cash from the tellers’ drawers. Both robbers fled the bank. A dye pack exploded shortly upon exiting the bank. Both individuals got into a getaway vehicle, which later crashed into a garbage truck a couple blocks away from the bank. According to witnesses, after crashing the vehicle, the two robbers continued to flee the scene, driving eastbound on 116th Street. There were no injuries reported as a result of this robbery. No photos are available at this time.

The robbers are described further as being in their early 30s, wearing dark clothing. One of the robbers had a long, black and grey beard; the other had a short black beard.
