BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced today that Jeffrey Paden, 47 of Frewsburg, NY, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Aaron J. Mango and Scott S. Allen, Jr., who are handling the case, stated that on September 20, 2007, the defendant knowingly possessed over 600 images of child pornography which were stored on his personal computer. Paden obtained these images over the internet. Some of the images depicted prepubescent minors or minors less than 12 years of age.

The plea is the result of an investigation on the part of Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Task Force which includes the Buffalo Police Department, Cheektowaga Police Department, and Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Wolford.
