Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty To Heroin Distribution

BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced today that Raul Matos, 49, of Buffalo, NY pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford to distributing heroin. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel, who is handling the case, stated that on three occasions in June and July 2014, the defendant sold heroin to an individual in Buffalo.

The plea is the result of an investigation on the part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Adam S. Cohen, Special Agent in Charge, Buffalo Division.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Wolford.
