Buffalo Woman Sentenced on Drug Charge

BUFFALO, NY—U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Besari Torres, 37, of Buffalo, New York, who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, was sentenced to three years’ probation, including six months home detention, by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser, who handled the case, stated that on September 29, 2011, the defendant, at the direction of her husband and co-defendant Victor Marshall, sold cocaine to a confidential informant on Albany St. in Buffalo. Victor Marshall was convicted of a controlled substance offense and will be sentenced on May 16, 2014.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the Safe Streets Task Force, under direction of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
