Buffalo Man Sentenced on Firearm Charge

BUFFALO, NY—U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Ricardo Waldrop, of Buffalo, N.Y., who was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, was sentenced to 57 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch, who handled the case, stated that on December 17, 2010, Waldrop sold a loaded .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol to another individual on Donovan Drive in Buffalo. Special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation subsequently stopped the vehicle of the individual who had purchased the gun and recovered the weapon.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation on the part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Christopher M. Piehota; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, under the direction of Resident Agent in Charge Francis J. Christiano.
