Former West Bridgewater Teacher Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

BOSTON—A Fall River man was charged today in federal court via criminal complaint with distribution of child pornography.
PAUL TEVES, 35, was charged in a complaint with distribution of child pornography. The complaint alleges that in June of 2010 TEVES, using the screen name “drtylindsmom,” was communicating with an individual from Albuquerque, NM. With that person, TEVES had portrayed himself as being a mother willing to “pimp out” her 11-year-old daughter. TEVES admitted to law enforcement that he had exchanged both videos and images of child pornography with others online.
TEVES has resigned as an 11th grade teacher at West Bridgewater High School, where he was also a coach for the boys and girls track teams.
If convicted on these charges, TEVES faces a five-year mandatory minimum and up to 20 years in prison, to be followed by supervised release for not less than five years and up to life. He also faces a $250,000 fine.
United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz and Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Field Division made the announcement today. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation - Boston Field Office and the Fall River Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Yoon of Ortiz’s Major Crimes Unit.
