FBI Violent Crimes Task Force Seeks Bank Robber

FBI Boston October 27, 2011

BOSTON—The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and Woburn Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the bank robber responsible for robbing Winchester Savings Bank in Woburn, Massachusetts.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2011, Winchester Savings Bank, located at 573 Main Street, Woburn, MA, was robbed. At approximately 10:15 a.m., the alleged robber, a white male, approximately 5’8”-5’10” in height, weighing 200-220 lbs, with a muscular build, wearing a dark-colored long sleeve t-shirt and light colored jeans, entered the bank. Using a note, he demanded money from a teller. After receiving money, he fled the bank in an unknown direction.

Approximately 38 minutes earlier, the same individual allegedly attempted to rob Citizens Bank, located at 331 Montvale Avenue, Woburn, MA. In that incident, when the alleged robber was asked to remove his hat by a bank employee, he fled the bank in an unknown direction.

The same individual may also be connected to a bank robbery at the RTN Federal Credit Union that occurred in September in Tewksbury, MA.

The FBI Boston Division Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber. The Massachusetts Bankers Association is offering a reward. Anyone with information regarding the alleged and attempted bank robberies is asked to call the FBI VCTF at (617) 742-5533.

Bank surveillance cameras captured the following images of the alleged robber during the abandoned attempted robbery at Citizens Bank.
