FBI Releases Photos of Serial Bank Robber Targeting Suburban Area Banks
“Back Street Bandit” May be Responsible for Three Robberies

FBI Boston July 22, 2010

The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force needs your help in identifying a serial bank robber who is suspected of robbing at least three banks located in suburban areas of Boston. The latest robbery happened at the Bank of America, located at 151 Centre Street, Malden, MA on July 19, 2010.

The unidentified subject is described as a light skinned Hispanic male in his 30s, approximately 5’4” to 5’8” tall, medium build, with brown hair and a goatee.

During all the robberies, the subject wore a fedora-style hat. He presented a manila envelope to the teller and verbally demanded money. No weapon was observed during the robbery and no one was physically hurt. After the teller placed the money in the envelope, he fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. Bank surveillance cameras captured several photographs of the robberies.

This robber is also suspected in the robbery of the Bank of America located at 94 Squire Road, Revere, Ma on June 14, 2010 and the robbery of the Eastern Bank located at 605 Broadway, Saugus, MA on June 18, 2010.

The Massachusetts Bankers Association Tip Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at (617) 742-5533.
