FBI Offers $20,000 Reward for Identification of Exxon Shooter in Hanover, Maryland

The Baltimore Division of the FBI and Anne Arundel County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who shot and killed the clerk during a robbery at the Exxon gas station at 7898 Ridge Road, in Hanover, Maryland, on August 7, 2014. Anyone with information leading to an arrest in the robbery and shooting could receive up to a $20,000 reward from the FBI.

Surveillance video shows the masked man entering the Exxon just after 1 a.m. on August 7. He confronted and shot the clerk, took cash from behind the counter, and then ran out of the store. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, with some sort of material covering his lower face.

Anne Arundel Police detectives say 49-year-old Rajinder Kumar, the store clerk, was killed during the robbery.

“We know we’re asking someone who knows the shooter to come forward, and that’s not an easy thing to do. But an innocent man was shot and killed for no reason,” said Special Agent in Charge Stephen Vogt of the Baltimore Division of the FBI. “We have to find this robber before he strikes again and kills or injuries anyone else.”

“This is a cold-blooded killer who is living freely amongst his friends and family as we speak,” said Chief of Police Kevin Davis. “Our detectives have worked and will continue to work tirelessly to get this killer off of the streets, but his friends and family need to know, if they harbor or assist him in any way, they will be held accountable.”

If you know anything about the robbery or the robber, you could receive a reward of up to $20,000 if you provide information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Please call the Baltimore Division of the FBI at 410-265-8080 or Anne Arundel Police Department at 410-222-8610.
