Heroin Distributor Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison

BALTIMORE—U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. sentenced Quinnard Shuler, age 40, of Baltimore, Maryland, today to 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Brisolari of the Drug Enforcement Administration-Washington Field Division; and Special Agent in Charge Stephen E. Vogt of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to Shuler’s guilty plea, from January through July 2011, he was part of a conspiracy to distribute heroin. A search warrant executed at his residence on July 15, 2011, recovered 1.4 kilograms of heroin, a digital scale, and other drug paraphernalia. Shuler admits that during the conspiracy he was responsible for the distribution of between one and three kilograms of heroin.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the DEA and FBI for their work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorney Peter M. Nothstein, who prosecuted this OCDETF case.
