Baltimore Serial Armed Robber Exiled to 14 Years in Prison

BALTIMORE—U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced Warren Delano Williams, age 34, of Baltimore, today to 14 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for bank robbery. Judge Blake also ordered Williams to pay $10,716 in restitution.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Richard A. McFeely of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Chief James W. Johnson of the Baltimore County Police Department; and Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger.
According to his plea agreement, from December 20, 2008 to March 1, 2009, Williams entered seven restaurants or retail stores in Baltimore armed with a handgun, which he pointed at the employees. Williams demanded money and stole a total of over $2,437.
From March 4 to April 21, 2009, Williams committed three bank robberies in Baltimore. Each time, Williams gave a bank teller a demand note claiming that he had a gun. Williams stole a total of $8,179 from the banks.
On April 21, 2009, Baltimore County Police officers executed a search warrant at Williams’ home and seized a .45 caliber, semi-automatic pistol.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the FBI, Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Baltimore County Police Department for their work in this investigation. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorneys P. Michael Cunningham and Cheryl Crumpton, who prosecuted the case.
