Lieutenant in Westport Heroin Conspiracy Sentenced to Over 24 Years in Prison
Distributed More Than 66 Pounds of Heroin

BALTIMORE, MD—U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr., sentenced Larry Cheese, age 28, of Baltimore, today to 292 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute heroin, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. Cheese has previous drug convictions.
According to Cheese’s plea agreement, from 2004 until July, 2008, Cheese was a street lieutenant in a drug organization that distributed heroin, under the brand name “Dynasty,” in the Westport area of Baltimore. Cheese was observed by law enforcement controlling the distribution of heroin by workers operating a street level shop. Cheese has admitted that he and his co-conspirators were responsible for the distribution of at least 30 kilograms of heroin.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy and Assistant State’s Attorney Keri Brozilleri, the Baltimore Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in the investigation and prosecution. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorney James T. Wallner and Special Assistant United States Attorney Christopher M. Mason, a cross-designated Baltimore City Assistant State’s Attorney assigned to EXILE cases, who are prosecuting the case.
