Seeking Information About Murder of U.S. Embassy Employee

The FBI needs your help to identify two men wanted in connection with the murder of a United States Embassy employee.

Mollie Halpern: The FBI needs your help to identify two men wanted in connection with the murder of a United States Embassy employee. Qassam Aqlan worked in the Regional Security Office in Sana’a, Yemen.

Richard J. Langham: Qassam had worked there for a long time and he actually provided significant support to the FBI legat office there.

Halpern: I’m Mollie Halpern, and this is Wanted by the FBI. In October of 2012, Aqlan and his son were driving when a man on the side of the road indicated he needed help and asked them to stop. The unknown man asked Aqlan to confirm his name. When Aqlan did, the man pulled out a black handgun and fired three rounds. Two of the bullets hit Aqlan—who managed to fire back before he died. Aqlan’s son witnessed his father’s life being stolen from him—but he was not injured. The shooter took off on a motorcycle with another man. Special Agent Richard Langham…

Langham: The way that it was carried out was very similar to attacks that have been carried out by al Qaeda in the region.
