Robbery of SunTrust Bank in Gainesville

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Mark F. Giuliano, FBI Atlanta, along with Gainesville Police Chief Brian P. Kelly, request assistance from the public in identifying and locating the individuals responsible for yesterday’s armed robbery of the SunTrust Bank branch located at 1430 Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville, Georgia.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at approximately 4:45 p.m., two white males entered the SunTrust Bank at 1430 Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville, Georgia and announced a robbery. One of the robbers was carrying an assault rifle and the other robber was observed carrying a white bag. The robber with the rifle demanded money while indicating that he recently might have had a home foreclosure. Both robbers were observed jumping over the teller counter. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, both robbers departed the bank without further incident.

The robbers are described as being white males, mid-20s to early 30s in age, medium builds, medium height. They are to be considered armed and dangerous.
