Albuquerque Police Arrest Fugitive Wanted in Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico Prison Gang Investigation

Paul Enrique Rivera, “Oso,” who was wanted by the FBI on a charge of violent crimes in aid of racketeering (VICAR)-conspiracy to murder/attempt murder, was arrested by the Albuquerque Police Department on Sunday, May 8, 2016.

Rivera, 44, of Los Lunas, is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.

Rivera was wanted in connection with a multi-agency operation targeting the Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico (SNM) Prison Gang.

Shauna Gutierrez, 36, of Belen, charged with VICAR-conspiracy to murder/attempt murder.

Leroy Torrez, 40, of Albuquerque, is wanted on a federal felon in possession of a firearm charge.
