Man Wearing Wig Robs Albuquerque Bank

A man wearing a reddish wig robbed Bank of the West located at 5228 Central Ave. SW in Albuquerque on Thursday (2/12/2015).

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s or 50s, with a medium to heavy build, pock marks on his face, and tattoos on both hands, including a solid black rectangle on one hand. He also had a deep voice.

He wore a red or auburn wig, a black baseball call with the image of a dog’s face in white, sunglasses, a green flannel shirt, and dark pants.

Witnesses said the suspect entered the bank at approximately 9:18 a.m. and verbally demanded money from a teller.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who put it in a plastic Wal-Mart shopping bag and left the bank.

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are investigating this robbery.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction of a bank robber.
