FBI Media Update: Armed Man Jumps Over Counter, Robs Albuquerque Bank

A man armed with a handgun robbed a northeast Albuquerque bank after jumping over a counter on Wednesday (9/30/2015).

The suspect is described as a heavy-set while male in his mid-20s to early 30s, approximately 5’10” to 5’11” tall, with reddish brown hair and a beard.

He wore a black baseball cap with a white Under Armour logo on it, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and shoes with black soles.

  

At approximately 3:48 p.m., the suspect entered the Bank of Albuquerque located at 4201 Wyoming Blvd. NE. He gave the teller a note while also displaying a handgun and making verbal demands for money.

The suspect jumped over the teller counter, grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, and left the bank.

He was last seen walking south on Wyoming Boulevard.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction of a bank robber.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
