John Allen Pierceall, 54, of Denver, has been arrested in connection with the robbery Monday (8/24/2015) of a branch of US Bank in Las Cruces.

Las Cruces Police Officers arrested Pierceall on Tuesday and turned him over to the FBI.

Pierceall is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces on Thursday.

Witnesses said a man entered the bank located at 901 E. University Ave. and gave a teller a note demanding money.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the bank.

No further information will be released until after Pierceall’s court hearing.

The FBI and Las Cruces Police Department are investigating.

The public is reminded the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
