Marcelino Chalan Jr., 27, of Cochiti Pueblo, was arrested on Tuesday, September 15, in connection with the robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in Rio Rancho on July 20, 2015.

The FBI arrested Chalan in Cochiti Pueblo. He is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Wednesday.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Rio Rancho Police Department, and Albuquerque Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Witnesses said a man entered the bank located at 3301 Southern Blvd. and gave a teller a note that demanded money.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect.

The public is reminded all defendants are presumed innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
