Gilbert Yazzie Arrested Near Hogback in Connection with the Sexual Assault of a Minor

Gilbert Yazzie, 44, of Shiprock, was arrested Saturday morning (June 22, 2013) in connection with the sexual assault of a minor on the Navajo Indian Reservation.
The FBI and Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety had been searching for Yazzie since the assault was reported in Shiprock last Saturday morning (June 15, 2013).
The Navajo Police Department arrested Yazzie near Hogback.
Yazzie is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Tuesday.
No further information will be released until after Yazzie’s court appearance.
