Arrest Made in Robbery of Albuquerque’s Western Commerce Bank

Solas M. Jansen, 26, of Albuquerque, was arrested in the Santa Rosa, New Mexico area today (September 28, 2013) in connection with the robbery Tuesday (September 24, 2013) of a Western Commerce Bank branch, 1910 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jansen and turned him over to the FBI. The Santa Rosa Police Department and Albuquerque Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Jansen is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.

Witnesses said a man entered the bank at approximately 12:11 p.m. Tuesday and presented a teller a note demanding money.

The teller handed an undisclosed amount of money to the man, who left the bank.

No other information will be released until after Jansen’s court appearance.

The public is reminded that all persons are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
