Statement from FBI SAC Lee Regarding Guilty Plea of Joseph Martinez to Production of Child Pornography Charge

FBI Albuquerque February 06, 2012
  • Public Affairs Specialist Frank Fisher (505) 889-1438

This statement is from Carol K.O. Lee, Special Agent in Charge, Albuquerque FBI Division:

I would like to recognize the hard work and persistence of the FBI special agents who worked closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office in obtaining today’s guilty plea.

This is an important case that demonstrates the commitment of the FBI and its law enforcement partners to bring child pornography offenders to justice, regardless of the obstacles or how long it takes.

In spite of the suppression of physical evidence last year, investigators diligently continued working on the case and found additional witnesses.

This new testimony, combined with the victim’s courage and strength, made sure Mr. Martinez will go to prison for a long time and not be able to harm more young people in our community.
