Robbery of First New Mexico Bank Branch in Hatch

The FBI and Hatch Police Department are looking for two men who robbed First New Mexico Bank branch located at 509 Franklin St. in Hatch on Friday afternoon.

The men are described as Hispanic, approximately 5’7” to 5’9” tall, 150 to 160 pounds, and in their mid-20s to mid-30s. Both spoke in English.

They may have fled in a dark vehicle, possibly a gray sedan.

Witnesses say the suspects entered the bank at approximately 2:31 p.m.

One suspect wore a black short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, a brown baseball-style cap with a white emblem, and dark shoes. He used a light-colored bandana to cover his face and had a dark handgun.

The other, taller suspect wore a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, a black baseball-style cap with a light-colored brim, dark shoes, black gloves, and carried a black backpack. He concealed his face with a dark bandana.

A reward of $1,000 may be available for the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
