Suspect Arrested in Las Cruces Bank Robbery

Daniel Francis Jones, 50, of the Las Cruces area, has been arrested in connection with the robbery of First New Mexico Bank on Tuesday.

Jones is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces on Thursday.

Witnesses say a man walked into the bank at 3000 E. Lohman Ave. shortly before 2 p.m. and handed a demand note to a teller. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Las Cruces police arrested a suspect a short time later.
