Robbery of New Mexico Bank and Trust Branch
“Lobo Hat Bandit”

The New Mexico Bank and Trust located at 3002 Louisiana was robbed this morning around 9:30 a.m. Albuquerque Police and special agents of the FBI responded to the robbery.

The bank robber presented a note to the teller demanding money and stated in the note that he had a gun. No actual firearm was observed by witnesses. The robber fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.

The suspect, a Hispanic male of dark complexion, mid 20s, of slender build with no visible tattoos, was wearing dark-colored shirt and dark-colored pants, and a dark hat bearing the word “Lobo.” No getaway car was observed by any witnesses.

The investigation is continuing. This is a joint investigation by the FBI and the Albuquerque Police Department.
