New Jersey Man Sentenced for Drug Distribution

United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian announced that on October 6, 2011, United States District Court Judge Lawrence E. Kahn sentenced Jamar Green 37, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, to 240 months in federal prison. This sentence was for Green’s’s conviction for the crime of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine. Green was arrested on April 15, 2010.

Green was indicted with 15 others for a conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine between August 2009 and March 2010. The indictment charges that it was the role of Jamar Green to procure cocaine and crack cocaine in the City of New York for distribution to Jamie Lee Toomer, who had it transported to Schenectady, New York for re-distribution. The indictment further charges that on March 28, 2010, Jamie Lee Toomer was in an apartment in Schenectady, New York in which there were approximately 750 grams of crack cocaine and 220 grams of cocaine.

Jamie Toomer, Victor Toomer, Jeffrey McGough, Sr., Trinelle Frye, Koshon Taylor, and Alexis Bass, all of Schenectady, have pled guilty to the conspiracy charge. Judge Kahn has sentenced Trinelle Frye to 120 months in federal prison and Jamie Toomer to 240 months in federal prison

Charges are pending against nine defendants

The investigation that resulted in these convictions was conducted by U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York State Police, the Schenectady Police Department, and the Office of the District Attorney of Schenectady County.
