Ombudsman, Office of the Ombudsman

Monique A. Bookstein was named the FBI’s ombudsman in August 2010.

Ms. Bookstein entered on duty with the FBI in 1988 and has held a variety of operations and professional staff positions within the Records Management, Laboratory, and Counterterrorism Divisions, as well as the Office of Public and Congressional Affairs and the Office of the General Counsel. She came to the Office of the Ombudsman in September 2009 as an associate organizational ombudsman and served as acting ombudsman from December 2009 until her appointment as ombudsman.

Ms. Bookstein holds a degree from the University of Maryland and is a member in good standing with the International Ombudsman Association.
