2011 Director’s Community Leadership Awards

Boston Ted Woo

Boston field office Director’s Community Leadership Award 2011

The Boston Division is pleased to honor Mr. Ted Woo, an active member of BRIDGES (Building Respect in Diverse Groups to Enhance Sensitivity), a group comprised of law enforcement and community leaders who meet monthly to discuss community concerns and issues.

Through BRIDGES, Mr. Woo has been involved in planning and coordinating several community events held in mosques and Sikh gurdwaras across the state of Massachusetts. These events have included roundtable discussions with community leaders as well as discussions on résumé building with area youth, displaced workers, and military veterans.

In addition, Mr. Woo works directly with several college and university career services departments to hold one-on-one sessions with students looking to build quality résumés.

Most recently, he served as the chairman of BRIDGES’ youth subcommittee, which focuses on preventing the radicalization of area youth.

In a ceremony at FBI Headquarters, Director Robert S. Mueller, III recognized the recipients of the 2011 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.

“Whatever the motivation—an unfilled need, a tragic occurrence, a desire to give back—these are people who make things happen and enlist others in their cause,” said Director Mueller. “They are activists who have earned their prestige through good works.”
