In Albany, David Graham left a career with great professional rewards to devote himself to providing inner-city youth the adult guidance they so desperately need. Currently, Mr. Graham is an employee of both the Albany City School District and the Capital District YMCA. A graduate of the State University of New York Institute of Technology and Hudson Valley Community College, Mr. Graham’s personal goal is helping kids succeed. During the summer months, Mr. Graham works with Pastor Charlie Muller (2008 DCLA recipient), helping provide thousands of free meals as part of Pastor Charlie’s “feeding program,” as well as recruiting volunteers for this unique community opportunity. Mr. Graham also works with Ron “Cook” Barrett (2001 DCLA recipient) in helping kids get off the streets through a Saturday night teen gang-prevention program. In addition, he runs a summer basketball camp in the Adirondack Mountains which serves underprivileged youth. |
