Integrating Intelligence and Investigations

Silhouetted Individuals Around Conference Table

National security and criminal threats are often intertwined. The FBI’s ability to integrate intelligence and investigations makes it uniquely situated to address the nation’s threats and vulnerabilities.

The Bureau structures its investigations to maximize the intelligence that can be gained from them. Drawing on its intelligence and law enforcement tools, the FBI deliberately and strategically decides where and when to disrupt and dismantle these threats.

Intelligence, in turn, drives investigative strategies to ensure the Bureau’s resources are targeting the most pressing threats.

Succeeding in this mission also requires the FBI to enhance the information it shares with the U.S. intelligence community and law enforcement partners and decision makers.
