Important Notice of Revised Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA

The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently approved revisions to the quality assurance standards required to be followed by laboratories that are federally operated, receive federal funds, or participate in the National DNA Index System (NDIS). The following revisions (Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories and Quality Assurance Standards for DNA Databasing Laboratories) were approved by the FBI Director in July 2008. These revisions will take effect on July 1, 2009. These revised Standards are also available on the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) website.
