Arrests, Persons Under 15, 18, 21, and 25 Years of Age, 2010

  • In 2010, individuals under the age of 25 accounted for 42.1 percent of all arrestees. Individuals under the age of 25 comprised 43.1 percent of all arrests for violent crime. Among the violent crimes, this age group accounted for 47.4 percent of all arrests for murder, and 64.2 percent of arrests for robbery. 
  • Persons under the age of 25 accounted for 53.7 percent of all arrests for property crime. Among the property crimes, this age group accounted for 58.0 percent of arrests for burglary, and 60.5 percent of arrests for arson. 
  • In 2010, 23.9 percent of all persons arrested for arson were under the age of 15, and 51.2 percent were under the age of 21 years. 
  • Arrests of persons under the age of 25 comprised 46.9 percent of all arrests made for drug abuse violations.
