Press Room: Wanted by the FBI

Wanted by the FBI

Seven-time Bank Robber, 06/30/09

Mr. Schiff: Hi. This is “Wanted by the FBI” from the FBI. There is a man in the Boston area wanted in connection with at least seven bank robberies. And Supervisory Special Agent Randy Jarvis in the FBI’s office in Boston says this guy carries bomb-type devices with him.

Mr. Jarvis: “One of the devices left at a phone booth and another one left inside the bank.”

Mr. Schiff: That’s what happened at the first two hold-ups. Jarvis says the devices are at the FBI Laboratory being analyzed, and he says the robber is good at hiding his identity.

Mr. Jarvis: “He has used masks, hooded sweatshirts, and baggy clothing, and he’s fully clothed head-to-toe with gloves.”

Mr. Schiff: Jarvis says there’s a reward of $37,500 for information leading to the ID and arrest of this bank thief, who has a gun.

Mr. Jarvis: “It’s a black pistol, and in one of the bank robberies he actually discharged the firearm.”

Mr. Schiff: Help find this dangerous robber. His wanted flyer is up on the Internet at FBI.gov. That’s “Wanted by the FBI” for this week. I’m Neal Schiff of the Bureau’s Office of Public Affairs.
