CAUTION
The FBI is seeking the public's assistance in locating an
unknown Hispanic male who is being sought on suspicion of bank
robbery. From June 29, 2007, through April 7, 2008, 15 banks
and credit unions in the San Diego County, California, area were
the victims of robberies or attempted robberies. The lone suspect
would typically stand in line while holding a cellular phone
to his ear with his left hand. While at the teller station, the
suspect displayed a handwritten note on the back of a white business-sized
envelope. Reportedly, the note ordered the teller to give the
suspect all of the bank's one hundred, fifty, and twenty dollar
bills. The note also indicated that the suspect allegedly had
a gun. It is alleged that once the suspect retrieved the money,
he either walked quickly or ran out of the bank.
The suspect was unshaven and wore a slight goatee. Regarding
his clothing, he wore the following: a short-sleeved, light blue-collared
shirt; or a long-sleeved, cream-colored fleece pullover; or a
short-sleeved, orange T-shirt; or a red windbreaker; and usually
blue jeans or dark pants. He also wore dark athletic shoes or
work boots. The suspect always wore a ball cap of some type that
was either a navy blue New York Yankees hat, a San Diego Chargers
hat, or something similar.
