The FBI and the Sevierville, Tennessee Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in locating an unknown suspect associated with an attempted child abduction in Kodak, Tennessee.
On August 9, 2014, at approximately 11:30 a.m., an eleven-year-old female was lured outside the Great Smokies Craft Fair located at 220 West Dumplin Valley Road in Kodak, Tennessee. Once outside, an unidentified male subject claimed to be a security guard, accused the victim of shoplifting, and attempted to grab her hand and purse. The victim ran away from the subject, but the subject pursued her for a short distance. The victim was able to re-enter the craft fair and report the incident. Video surveillance captured part of the reported incident.
The subject is described as a White male, age 35 to 45, bald with a dark goatee. He had brown eyes and was approximately 5'9" to 5'10", weighing approximately 165 to 180 pounds. The suspect wore a white t-shirt, desert camouflage khaki shorts, sandals with a "criss-cross" strap, and black sunglasses on his forehead.
