DETAILS
Sonia del Carmen Leon de Carol is wanted for child abduction from McHenry County, Illinois. On May 26, 2009, Leon de Carol was sharing joint custody of her two minor children, Andrea Vanessa Carol and James Patrick Carol III, with her ex-husband when the McHenry County Circuit Court for the 22nd Judicial Circuit of Illinois granted her permission to travel with the children to Mexico. This permission was predicated on the agreement that she return to Illinois with the children on June 26, 2009. On June 3, 2009, Leon de Carol presented the court with the required documentation concerning their travel arrangements, and on June 7, 2009, Leon de Carol and the children traveled to Mexico. On June 24, 2009, Leon de Carol cancelled their return flights. On June 29, 2009, the children’s father contacted the authorities because the children had not returned to Illinois. On June 30, 2009, the McHenry County Circuit Court for the 22nd Judicial Circuit of Illinois issued an arrest warrant for Leon de Carol for child abduction. On September 15, 2009, the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Western Division, issued a warrant for Leon de Carol’s arrest for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.Victim - ANDREA VANESSA CAROL
