Percent Change
for Consecutive Years
January-June
The FBI collects these data through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program.
This table provides the percent change in offenses known to law enforcement for the Nation for the first 6 months in consecutive years from 2002 through 2006.
The data used in creating this table were from law enforcement agencies submitting 3 or more common months of offense reports from 2002 through 2006. When the FBI determines certain variables have created unusual fluctuations in the data, those data are excluded from the trend tabulations.
The FBI calculated 2005 state growth rates using revised 2004 state/national population estimates and 2005 provisional state/national population estimates provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. The FBI then estimated population figures for city and county jurisdictions by applying the 2005 state growth rates to the revised 2004 U.S. Census Bureau data.
