In 2006, 76.0 percent of all people arrested in the Nation’s suburban areas were male.
Males accounted for 82.6 percent of all those arrested in 2006 for violent crime and 69.0 percent of the people arrested for property crime.
Females were most often arrested for larceny-theft offenses (113,623) and driving under the influence (99,107).
Males were most frequently arrested for drug abuse violations (396,315) and driving under the influence (385,800).
