FBI Top Ten List Hits 59th Anniversary
Listen with Window Media Player

Mr. Schiff: The first FBI’s Top Ten list was in March of  1950 and has featured some really bad people over the years…

Mr. Bryant: "Probably the most prominent is Usama Bin Laden.  Besides him, Ramzi Yousef who was wanted for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing; Mir Aimal Kansi, who was wanted for the killing of two CIA employees outside CIA headquarters back in 1993.”

Mr. Schiff: Brad Bryant, Special Agent and Chief of the FBI’s Violent Crimes and Major Offenders Unit in Washington…

Mr. Bryant: "Willie Sutton was on the list.  Willie was a notorious bank robber.  When asked why he robs banks, his response was, ‘well that’s where the money is.’ ”

Mr. Schiff: There have been 491 fugitives on the Top Ten list.  Bryant says 460 have been caught or located and says the list is a big help…

Mr. Bryant: "Not only nationally but internationally.  Forty of our captures have been in countries outside of the United States.”

Mr. Schiff: See the FBI’s Top Ten wanted flyers on the Internet at www.fbi.gov.  I’m Neal Schiff of the Bureau and that’s what’s happening at the “FBI, This Week.”
