Mr.
Schiff: February is Black History Month and
at the FBI there have been many African-American
Special Agents, with some reaching the upper echelon.
Wayne Davis became the Special Agent in Charge
of the FBI's Philadelphia office. He graduated
from the University of Connecticut, served in
the military, and then, in 1963, joined the FBI…
Mr. Davis: "The Civil Rights movement,
you'll recall, was really about equal treatment,
equal access, about equal opportunity and you
know, the FBI, if they were going to be equal,
then they were going to be equal with yours truly."
Mr. Schiff: Davis says he had a keen interest
in the FBI…
Mr. Davis: "There was a mystique about
the FBI. You know, the FBI was one of those 'up
in the clouds' kind of organization that, frankly,
coming out of the Black community, not a lot of
people knew an awful lot about."
Mr Schiff: Wayne Davis served 25 years
with the FBI and is happily retired. Would you
