FBI St. Louis May 27, 2011
  • Rebecca Wu (314) 589-2671

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Dennis L. Baker of the FBI St. Louis Division has announced the arrest of 32-year-old Jerry B. Chambers, of St. Louis. The FBI, St. Louis Metropolitan Police, and Warrenton Police arrested Chambers early this morning without incident at a residence in the St. Louis area. A tip from someone who knew Chambers helped identify him.

“So far this year, we have arrested four suspected serial bank robbers who may have been responsible for 20 bank robberies,” said SAC Baker. “If they are charged with all 20 bank robberies, our solution rate for the FBI St. Louis Division would be 71 percent.”

Chambers and 23-year-old Walter W. Wallace of St. Louis have both been charged with robbing:

1) Pulaski Bank at 10 Maryland Plaza in St. Louis on 03-29-11

Investigators believe the two men may also be responsible for robbing:

2) Advance America Cash Advance at 1300 Schaeffer Road in Granite City, IL on 4-30-11 3) FCB at 909 South Main Street in Caseyville, IL on 03-01-11

After Wallace was arrested and charged on 05-02-11, investigators believe Chambers may have continued to work alone and robbed:

4) American Bank at 917 N. Outer Road in Warrenton on 05-21-2011 5) UMB at 13969 Manchester Road in Town and Country on 05-07-11
