Denver, Colorado Man Arrested in Ste. Genevieve County is Sentenced on Federal Charges

ST. LOUIS, MO—The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that a Denver, Colorado, man was sentenced to 60 months in prison and supervised release for life involving the transportation of a minor for illegal sexual contact.

Between January 5 and January 6, 2010, Christopher Martinez transported a minor female from the State of Colorado to the State of Missouri to have illegal sexual contact. He was arrested by the Ste. Genevieve Sheriff’s Department on January 6, 2010.

CHRISTOPHER MARTINEZ, Denver, Colorado, pleaded guilty in May to one felony count of interstate travel to engage in illicit sexual contact, and appeared today for sentencing before United States District Judge Carol E. Jackson.

This case was investigated by the Ste. Genevieve Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Carrie Costantin handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
