Hayti Man Sentenced to 100 Months on Drug Trafficking Charges

A Hayti, Missouri man was sentenced today on drug trafficking charges, announced Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap.

KOREY JOHNSON was sentenced to 100 months on two felony counts of distribution of five grams or more of cocaine base. He appeared before United States District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr.

On December 14, 2008, a cooperating individual purchased crack cocaine (cocaine base) from Johnson near Lincoln Street in Hayti, Missouri. Then on December 22, 2008, a cooperating individual purchased crack cocaine from Johnson near Emerson Street in Kennett, Missouri.

Reap praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bootheel Drug Task Force, the Kennett Police Department and the Hayti Police Department for their work on the case. Assistant United States Attorney Paul W. Hahn handled the prosecution for the Government.
