ST. LOUIS, MO—Charles Anthony Avila was sentenced to 120 months in prison  for the robbery of the Eagle Bank and Trust Company in Festus, Missouri, and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,810, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today.

According to court documents, on September 24, 2008, the Eagle Bank and Trust Company in Festus, Missouri, was robbed. The victim teller said that Avila presented her with a black bag folded into a square and a note advising of the robbery and that he wanted loose 100's, 50's and 20's. The teller filled the bag with $2,810. He took the bag and the note and left the bank. After getting a description of the robber, law enforcement officers canvassed the area and soon located the note and a baseball cap fitting the teller’s description. Avila was later arrested and questioned and admitted to committing the bank robbery.
