On January 30, 2013, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant in California associated with businesses formerly operating under the names Short Refi Funding, Certified Processing, Certified Processing and Legal Assistance, CLF Funding, America’s Help Center, United Plus, and US Certified. The search was conducted at locations in Irvine, California. The search warrant is sealed, and no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the investigation.

The FBI’s Albany Division office has established this webpage as an online resource for customers who have been working with the aforementioned entities on a mortgage modification or other debt relief plan.

Customers willing to provide further information about their efforts to secure a mortgage modification or debt relief through the referenced entities can fill out and submit an online questionnaire that will be forwarded to our Albany office. Please note that communications and information shared with Short Refi Funding, Certified Processing, Certified Processing and Legal Assistance, CLF Funding, America’s Help Center, United Plus, and US Certified and/or affiliates might be covered by an attorney-client privilege, but the online questionnaire does not seek to obtain any such potentially privileged information.

Here’s a sample of what you will be asked to submit using the online questionnaire:

  • Your contact information, including name, address, telephone numbers, and e-mail address;
  • Co-borrower information;
  • Mortgage type, loan amount, and status of your current mortgage;
  • If available, copies of statements verifying payments for services; and
  • Additional information as requested on electronic form.
