On Saturday, September 20, 2014, at approximately 1:40 p.m., the Wells Fargo Bank branch located at 5522 Balboa Avenue in San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and began demanding money from several tellers. The robber demanded specific denominations and continued to repeat his demands throughout the robbery. The robber simulated a weapon with his hand that he kept in his sweatshirt pocket. The robber was given a sum of money by three of the tellers. The robber collected the money and then ran out of the bank to his vehicle, described as a Nissan pickup truck that was parked a distance away from the bank.

SDPD officers responding to the bank robbery subsequently located the robber’s vehicle and attempted to stop the robber. The robber failed to yield to SDPD officers for more than 10 minutes as they attempted to stop his vehicle. The robber’s vehicle subsequently hit a SDPD vehicle in the area of Sports Arena Boulevard and East Drive. The robber continued on until he hit a citizen’s vehicle in the area of Sports Arena Boulevard and the Interstate 8 off-ramp. After hitting the second vehicle, the robber exited the vehicle and started to run away from the scene of the collision. A short time later, the robber was arrested by SDPD officers.

Valle was subsequently transported to SDPD headquarters in furtherance of the investigation. Valle was later booked into San Diego Central Jail at 1173 Front Street in California under several charges including robbery and evading police officers with bail set at $2,000,000.
